Scraper for ELWIS
ELWIS is the Electronic Waterway Information Service of the German Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration with information for all shipping operators on German maritime and inland waterways. The information in ELWIS is intended to help shipping operators to plan their journeys better. Among other things, this has a positive effect on the flow of traffic and thus also on safety on the waterways.
To be harvested are:
- all entries included in the main search index, one dataset per entry
- Water levels & forecasts at gauges relevant to shipping ("Wasserstände & Vorhersagen an schifffahrtsrelevanten Pegeln"), one dataset per entry (i. e. gauge, in German "Pegel")
- downloadable data in the form of PDF- and .csv-files, one dataset per document, with download links attached
- ice situation reports ("Eislage-Meldungen"), one dataset per table entry ("Bereich"), including all information available under "Auswahl der anzuzeigenden Werte"
Acceptance criteria:
- Scraper for ELWIS merged into main branch and deployed to
md.umwelt.info
. - One dataset per entry in the main search index.
- One dataset per entry in the section Water levels & forecasts at gauges relevant to shipping.
- One dataset per downloadable document in the section "Vorhersage".
- One dataset per entry in the section "ice situation reports".
