Anonymous identity in the EUDI Wallet
As a German citizen, I would like to be able to use digital services while maintaining my anonymity, if this is provided for by law or necessary for reasons of data protection and privacy, so that I can effectively exercise my rights and freedoms in the digital space without revealing my personal identity.
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA: Legal compliance: The function supports use cases that require anonymous or pseudonymous use by law.
Privacy protection: Users can use services without being personally identifiable.
Security and trust: The implementation is based on secure technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs that do not reveal any personal data.
Verifiability: Compliance with data protection principles and technologies is regularly confirmed by independent audits.
To strengthen the requirement for anonymous identity verification, I propose the use of zero-knowledge proofs. This cryptographic technique makes it possible to prove a person's authorization without revealing any personal information.
By implementing this approach, we can significantly improve the security and privacy of our users by ensuring that only the necessary credentials are verified, without any personal data. This supports our goal of optimally combining data protection and functionality.
