Support multiline and/or markdown in more places

Multiline values (eg for textareas) are supported as (initial) value in textarea inputs and alerts.

However, it would be preferable to allow multiline input in at least the following places:

• Hints
• textarea Placeholder text

Moreover, markdown input would be a good enhancement in

• Hints

to facilitate callouts or structuring.
